I can't even pretend to talk about how sorry I am. Life got in the way and things just trailed off a little bit; good news is, now I'm back. For the newer followers that don't know me, here's a slight introduction to who I am.

Alex, hey there. 22, CA native in the LA region. Student. Teacher. Drinker. Lover. Artist in my own right. Love fully, don't trust easily. Reader. Believer. Sister. Daughter. Friend.

Now that we've gotten that out of the way, a few things you can expect from me: new music from indie bands, movie info, and probably some sort of photography or an old painting I love. Because I've been gone for so long, it is only appropriate to include all of the above.
Musically I've gotten into experimental type music lately. The latest group I've fallen in love with has been KI: Theory. Currently they have a download of their newest mixtape song, HowVeryDare as well as the older album, Arms for Legs. It's amazing, trust me.
On the movie front, I actually have two. One is currently making festival rounds, the other is set to be released later this winter. Both take a very powerful stance to culturally specific ideals, yet an open mind will be able to appreciate both. Won't give away much what's going on in them because you can get the gist in the trailers. Enjoy.

The One With the Purple Hat

Greetings! I am the super special college student known as Bekah Farkas who will be filling your Tuesdays with nonsense. I’m nineteen years old and I’ve been writing for five years now with varied success. Currently I’m working on a novel that is very near completion. What’s it about? It’s incredibly hard for me not to answer “exploding gerbils.” You get the best greatest looks when you say that to people. My passions besides writing include purple, cats and anime. You’ll notice that I have a slightly obsessive personality. Once I attach myself to something I stay attached. The best example of this is in my love of the color purple which has consumed my life completely. From clothes to décor I have completely immersed myself in it. I occasionally think about going into rehab for it but that would require admitting I have a problem and who wants to do that?

Writing is my thing, usually in the form of rants. I started blogging two months ago and have been updating daily ever since. For you I will be sharing my opinions of fantasy novels and manga. If I’m feeling particularly lazy or by some strange unnatural occurrence have written something new I will share with you my short stories. I might even link you to one of my longer pieces so I can rant about that. I’d also like to examine the different styles and methods of writing at some point. I dislike writing poetry so I will avoid that topic as much as possible. I will leave you with the words of S. Morgenstern: “Life is pain… anybody that says different is selling something.” Three points and a preen if you can tell me what novel it’s from and who said it.

Hello internet darlings. If you are going to attempt to suffer through reading my thoughts every Saturday, I feel it is only fair that you know a bit about me. My name is Kate, Kathryn if you are feeling formal, and I am a nineteen-year-old nobody from Pittsburgh. (My one claim to fame being a twenty pound cat named Boswik - he is the czar of fluff. But enough about him.)

My life is currently made up with writing, reading medical books, feeding my various pets, and working. Sort of working. More like, working on working. Or something like that. But I digress, and in doing so have forgotten to mention my most important activity, blogging for the entertainment of strangers, of course. For those interested to know, I will mainly be writing about films that I love and want you all to love too. Foreign, silent, obscure, or just personal favorites, but all utterly delightful. Well, mostly.

Additionally, in my semester off of school, I am finally going to get around to making myself a full steampunk outfit. And you, my adoring fans, will receive occasional updates. There will also be poetry and the occasional guest. And if you are very unfortunate, some of my own work.
