John Holt, father of the modern homeschool movement, is quoted as saying, "Learning is happening all the time." In other words, whether you try to or not, kids are leanring, picking things up in thier environment. Another favorite author in the same genre, Charlotte Mason always said that life is a science of relationships. She believed that every day children need something learn, something to love and something to do. That can be accomplished in a million different ways. Today, it was accomplished by Tim bringing a friend to our house for the evening. He and Dreu composed music....she doing the lyrics and he doing the guitar riffs. Alone, they each have solo talent. Together they are dynamic! It's not like they are no good without the other, because that is far from true, they are both awesome artists. But there is a synergy in their combined efforts that is missing when they solo.
